2011-2012 APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Welcome to the Greensboro College Online Application
|
Admissions Requirements
Admission to Greensboro College is based on several factors. The college seeks to identify and enroll students who have the preparation and potential for success at the college.
In order of importance the college evaluates candidates for admission on the following factors:
- Grade point average
- Standardized test scores
- Leadership activities in and out of the high school setting
- Strength of course selection
- High School Profile
Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply in the fall of their senior year. The Early Action Plan is designed for students who apply and are accepted by December 15 of their senior year. Students who meet this deadline are usually awarded the best financial aid packages, invited to the earliest orientation and registration weekend and receive the first choice of residence hall rooms.
The office of admissions operates on a rolling basis, meaning that there is no deadline for applications to be submitted. Students may apply for the fall or spring semester.
A complete application consists of the following items:
- The application form
- Official high school and/or college transcripts or GED records
- Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I) or American College Test (ACT) scores
- Nonrefundable $35 application fee
Transfer Admissions
Transfer students must have official transcripts sent from all previous colleges to complete their application for admission. Students who have earned 28 or more semester hours of college work are not required to submit high school transcripts or SAT I/ACT scores. Students wishing to apply for financial aid must have their financial aid transcripts sent to the Greensboro College Financial Aid Office. Transfer students should be aware of the Housing Policy, which states that all students must live on campus until they have earned 92 semester hours or are 21 years of age (unless they live at home with parents, are married, are a veteran, or live with an immediate family member).
High School Transcripts

Some North Carolina public high schools have the capability to electronically send official high school transcripts when you apply online. We encourage you to visit your school counselor to verify coursework and grades prior to requesting an electronic transcript.
To send an electronic transcript, you must:
- Complete this online application.
- Make sure you have entered the following information in your profile and/or application:
- First and Last name - This must match your NCWISE name (use the name that appears on your report card, or check with your high school counselor).
- NCWISE Student ID - Your NCWISE Student ID is your North Carolina public high school student identifier number and is only applicable to North Carolina High School students. Providing the NCWISE Student ID is voluntary and if provided, will give you the opportunity to request your high school transcript electronically.
- Current high school (or high school at time of graduation)
- Date of birth
- E-mail address
- Gender
- Be currently enrolled, or enrolled at the time of graduation, at a participating public high school in North Carolina that has converted from the SIMS system to NCWISE to manage student data. If you are not sure about your school's current status, or status at the time you graduated, check with your school counselor or office staff.
If these conditions were met when you submitted your application, you will then be presented with the option of sending your high school transcript electronically to that school.
