CAMPUS SUMMARY
Chowan University is a Christian, four-year coeducational institution. Founded in 1848, the College is located in historic Murfreesboro, NC in the northeastern part of North Carolina. Near the Outer Banks of NC, Virginia Beach, VA, and Norfolk, VA, Chowan University offers a small town community that is less than 1 hour from the beach, outdoor activities, and shopping. Offering 14 NCAA Division II athletics, intramural sports, and over 30 academic programs, Chowan University is committed to the spirtual, academic, and social development of its students. Chowan University's School of Graphic Communications is nationally recognized as one of the top programs in the southeast. Environmental Biology, Teacher Education, History, Religious Studies, Criminal Justice, and Physical Education majors are growing quickly. Business is the most popular major.
