DONNELLE GRAHAM
Donnelle Graham was named Western Regional Director for Programs and Outreach, GEAR UP North Carolina, in March 2005. In this capacity, she has the responsibility of providing technical assistance for program design, development, implementation, and sustainability to participating western GEAR UP NC school districts. Donnelle works collaboratively with the Director for Programs and Outreach, GEAR UP NC, on expansion planning and implementation by assessing school and community assets and needs, identifying and securing resources, and delivering services to students, parents, and educators.
Prior to joining the Office of the President, Mrs. Graham was the Associate Director of College Awareness Programs at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. During her six year tenure at Appalachian, she also served as Coordinator and Assistant Director for GEAR UP, Co-Director of ASU’s Summer Reading Program and Coordinator for the Appalachian Higher Education Access Network. Donnelle is dedicated to mentoring, supporting, and assisting those who are working to significantly increase the number of students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education.
Donnelle holds a BA in Secondary Education from Ohio State University, an MA in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina, and an Ed.S in Higher Education Administration from Appalachian State University. She has been married to her husband Jon for a delightful 34 years. They have two sons, one beautiful granddaughter and another granddaughter on the way. Donnelle enjoys quilting, reading and shopping.
