Why GEAR UP NC?
Historically, North Carolina's manufacturing economy did not require a college-educated workforce. To succeed and compete in today's global economy, however, our citizens need a higher level of education.
GEAR UP NC's purpose is to increase the number of students who attend public and private or independent colleges and universities, community colleges, or technical schools immediately after high school.
To accomplish this goal,
