Summer Enrichment
Residential and non-residential summer enrichment programs help students develop college aspirations. These programs take place each year across the state during the summer months in local GEAR UP NC school districts or on college campuses and are critical because they provide students with an opportunity to receive academic instruction and experience life in a college campus setting.
2006 college campus offering highlights include academic and cultural enrichment, core subject instruction, SAT preparation, college and career planning, the college application process for seniors, leadership development, confidence building, group interaction, service learning, and much more. Residential programs will take place at the following locations:
- Appalachian State University, June 18 - June 23
- University of North Carolina at Asheville, June 25 - June 30
- Peace College, June 26 - June 30
- East Carolina University, July 2 - July 7
Please contact the appropriate school district's GEAR UP coordinator for more specific information about local programs. You may also contact the state GEAR UP NC office for more information about residential college campus programs that are coordinated by the state office.
