Create a User Account

There's a wealth of information available on the CFNC site that does not require you to have a CFNC account. However, in order to access some of the more valuable tools and information you will need to set up a secure, private account.

Here are some of the things you can access with your private account:

Students:

  • Learn which careers match your interests and personality
  • Keep a record of your high school grades, honors, test scores, and activities
  • Track your progress toward meeting specific college entrance requirements
  • Apply online to over 100 NC colleges
  • Submit financial aid applications online
  • Apply for and check status of student loans

Parents:

  • Enroll in and access your NC 529 College Savings Plan Accounts
  • Apply for a parent loan (PLUS) for college expenses
  • Check the status of your PLUS or Stafford loans

Since account access is verified and applications will pre-fill information based on the user profile, be sure you create the profile based on the person whose name is on the account or application.
