A food broker is the person responsible for marketing and selling individual
grocery items or lines of grocery items to the people who make the buying
decisions for grocery stores and restaurants.

and displays and presentations designed to build interest and excitement about

efforts and the demand for a product by consumers. That means the food broker
needs to keep up with statistics and growth trends in the industry.
There is a lot of travel involved in this career. Most food brokers are
responsible for a specific area or territory. It can be anywhere from a few
counties wide to nationwide. In some cases, it's international.
Most food brokers work from an office. But much of their time is spent
meeting with buyers and purchasing agents outside of their office. For this
reason, some food brokerage companies include a company car as part of the
compensation package that they offer.
